GSFPre-Medical Coalition

Connecting students on the pre-medical path with the physicians and healthcare professionals who have already walked it.

Why It Exists

The mentors are already here. The introduction is what is missing.

There is a deep bench of attending physicians and healthcare professionals in this network. There are also students grinding through the pre-medical path right now, often doing it alone, a single introduction away from someone who has already solved the exact problem in front of them.

The Coalition closes that gap. It builds one active network out of the people practicing medicine and the people on their way into it, so a student does not have to be lucky to find a mentor.

That matters past any one career. Aim that collective expertise outward and it becomes a way to take on the healthcare inequities that fall hardest on Latino communities. Every physician this pipeline produces is a scholar who makes it, and a community that gets better care.

What It Does

Five things, built in this order.

The first four are the groundwork. The fifth is what they add up to.

Resource bank

One place for study materials, application guides and academic support, so nobody rebuilds the same MCAT folder from scratch.

Monthly meetings

A standing call to share milestones, talk through medical topics and keep the group moving together.

Alumni speaker series

Sessions with attending physicians and healthcare professionals on clinical insight and the parts of a career nobody writes down.

Clinical and career board

Curated pre-med jobs, internships and physician shadowing, posted as they come up.

Annual medical conference Longer term

The flagship: a yearly summit for networking, professional development and advocacy, open to everyone in the network.

Get Involved

Two ways in, and both are needed now.

This is early. The committee is building it from scratch, which means the people who step in now shape what it becomes.

If you are on the path

Pre-med, post-bacc, applying, or still deciding whether medicine is the road. You get the resource bank, the monthly calls, the speaker sessions, and a direct line to people doing the job.

If you are already practicing

Attending, resident, nurse, PA, researcher, anyone working in healthcare. An hour on a call, one shadowing slot, or a look at a personal statement goes further than you would guess.

The committee will reach out as the first meetings get scheduled. Unsubscribe from any of it in a click.

The Committee

Who is building it.

The Foundation's contribution is guidance and mentorship for execution. The work is theirs.

The Foundation

Gamma Scholar Foundation turns a network into something built for real impact: serving our communities, building the next generation of leaders. If it doesn't change something for someone, we don't take it on.

Programs like this one are the point.

A scholarship opens a door. A program like the Coalition is what happens after someone walks through it.
